Program Description / Statement of Need:

This presentation discusses strategies to implement early goal directed therapy protocol for septic shock in a collaborative manner between the emergency department and the intensive care units at a major medical center. Rationale for the protocol and measured outcomes were presented.

Target Audience:
This program has been designed for a multidisciplinary physician and nurse audience including: Emergency Medicine / ICU / Anesthesia / Peri-op / Intensivists / Trauma / Critical Care

Program Objectives:
At the completion of this program the participant will be able to: Describe the importance of early goal directed therapy. Cite hemodynamic variables related to outcome in septic shock. List actions that promote collaborative implementation.
