Anthony Michael (Tony) Roche, MBChB, FRCA, MMed (Anaes)

Dr. Roche is an assistant professor in the department of anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center. He completed his medical school training and internship at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, where after he moved to London, England, for his anesthesiology residency at the prestigious Royal Free and University College London Medical School. Besides his residency, Dr. Roche has also completed advanced fellowship training in hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation, as well as cardiothoracic anesthesiology and critical care. After his fellowship, Dr. Roche was recruited to the department of anesthesiology at Duke University. His research interests are focused in the areas of coagulation and hemostasis, intravenous fluid therapy and goal-directed volume resuscitation, outcome effects of perioperative coagulation dysfunction, perioperative endothelial dysfunction, and blood conservation.
